This guitar is a loose interpretation of the Gibson 00, though it is actually a little smaller. Body is Brazilian and the top is Carpathian. The binding is curly maple and there is a black/bloodwood/black purfling line just everywhere. The tuners are gotoh 3 on a plate which I think is a pretty good value in tuners. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful, John. I'm partial to slotheads and pyramid bridges...and yours are among the best! That's gotta be the lightest colored Braz I've ever seen...I like it a lot! A few questions: - What finish? - Can you describe the sound? - How do you make the pyramids? Thanks for sharing. |

This one is going to a guy named Lars who lives in Sweden, but not the Lars that is our newest member. The finish is just plain old Nitro. I get Addam Stark to do it. He does it well It sounds very full and seems to have good articulation and separation between strings. I am pleased with the sound and I don't cut small guitars any slack To make the pyramid bridge, I first do the slot and drill pinholes (of course) then arch the bottom of the bridge, and then sand in a curved channel on each side of the rectangular center section to define where it is going to be and separate it from the wings. I have this spindle sander now and using the smallest spindle, which is about the size of a pencil, this goes pretty fast. I used to use a chain saw file. After that, there is a lot of rasp work. If I had a disk sander or an edge sander cutting the pyramid facits would be easier. John |

John I am building a small parlor, actually an 0 12 fret, so a bit smaller than yours. I am curious how deep your guitar is? I am not sure how deep to build this one. I want some depth and bottom end. Thanks Andy |

Well thanks guys for your kind remarks. L.P. I am impressed with your superglue finger repair. I know that hurt to play. I have no pictures of the bridge making process but will take some and post them. You guys would be very unimpressed. I am such a low tech builder compared to the crowd around here. |

Fabulous looking guitar John, beautifully executed - whether high or low tech craftsmanship shows. Does the bridge position in the lower bout help drive the top better? That exact design but with the upper bout lowered to meet at the 13th fret would be very cool too. |
