I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out here. I have a show in Holland this fall that is for things made from Michigan woods. I have some Hard Maple that was at the bottom of Lake Arcadia for over 100 years and a small board of Curly Walnut that came from a blow down. I need to find something for top wood. Like maybe Larch or a Spruce that came from here. Any good Quartered Sawn softwood would do. If you might have some or could leed me in that direction that would be very kind. Thanks in advance,

TW

He doesn't look in here too often...I'll try and remember to give him a call for you.

Thanks! I'm just curious about local woods, as well as his success in finding them.

Just a thought? Are there any Michigan Cedars large enough for top woods?

I have two Eastern Red Cedars I'm planning to take down, but tops are not possible (no more than 8"-10" D). I was curious about maybe some necks? Stable enough, but not enough strength? How about with cf for added stiffness?
