I have a Sears 3 wheel 10" bench top band saw. Don't like the blades Sears sells. (these are 56 7/8", I think) Anyone have any custom made or know of other vendors? I need an alternative.... |

For the band saw, I use a special blade that works great for very smooth cuts. I bought it to make very accurate smooth cuts for the homemade rosette ropes I'm making. Here are the specs: 10tpi, 1/2" width, .025" thick, .029" kerf. The source is www.hastingssaws.com. It is a special item and the blade is custom made and sold by the foot. It cost around $12 for an 80" blade which is a great deal. Call them and give them the above specs and they will get you what you need. |

I tried replacing a sears blade once and found that only sears makes them. You will probably have to have one made. |

Woodcraft has their own in-house brand that they'll weld them to whatever length you want. You can get Timberwolf blades custom made, too, at Suffolk Machinery. I don't think it's that much more expensive to have them made than to buy them off the shelf. |

grizzly does have a 58 1/8 blade . There are so many available , you need to look at what you are doing. I use mybandsaw for rought cutting. So I use a coarser tooth but for close work a 6 tooth raker is fine. This lets a little sanding work but then you want to sand some anyway john |
