I've got John's cauls headed my way and an arbor press waiting for action, so I need to build a tool to connect the two. I've seen pics of Stewmac's system, but I thought I'd see if anyone had anything homebrewed. If you have something to share, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Stew Mac does sell the caul separately - item 4366.

Clarification - John sent the inserts. The inserts fit in
the caul which fits in the press.

I posted a pic of my drill press rig in one of the other threads on the cauls, the first one I believe. I am going to make a new one once the cauls arrive (they are thinner than my homemade caul), and mod up a set of vise grips as well for a jaws. Its fairly easy - you will see the caul in the photo - flat stock and nuts and bolts, a little bit of grinding and some 1/4-20 tapping. No real machining to speak of.

I'll be offering a steel caul that fits my inserts very soon. The toolpathing is all done. I just have to find time to cut em'.
