What would the instrument profile look like? I think it would depend on how much darker wood is left. Might look nice with the dark on the outside...

What kind of wood is that exactly?

Thanks guys. Of course it could be used either way depending on customer preferance. I was just looking for the best way to take the pictures. Maybe I'll do a few each way. Oh it's QS Curly Ash in very limited quantity.

I'm with John, I like #2. I think I always like to see the lighter color wood as well as the tighter grain along the seam. Of course, I'm a little odd.

Bob, you can't spoil our objectiveness by stating your preference first. I bet if you kept it secret, the results would be much different!

I still like the second one. Take 1/2" out of the center so there's a little more dark at the waist. Its framed.

Nice looking ash, Bob.....what species is it? I picked up some super figured Japanese Tamo ash and some fiddlebck European ash awhile back. I've always admired fine ash. I would agree with the opinion to remove a bit of center and keep the heartwood framing the set.Larry Davis38731.8481134259
