I was curious if anybody uses, or has used an electric hand planer? I am confined to a small work space and own a couple of nice hand planes(Lie nielsen and a veritas) but don't have room for a cabinet planer. The hand planes work great for finishing, but I'm curious to know if the electric ones do a fine job, or if they just Ruin things faster? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Forgot those monsters for lutherie. However, good for smoothing rough chainsawn beams and table top slabs though

Try the Wagner SafT Planer Thread, over yonder.

Yep, I agree with Dickey. The Wagner is MUCH MUCH more suited for this than the electric planers.
They will almost surely ruin things faster. Those blades have a tendency to make thin wood bounce and rough it up.
