While rummaging through an old drawer at home looking for a rubber (eraser to you) I came on this tape measure. I think I can see where the confusion is now! Spot the mistake.

Excelent example on why it is so expensive to convert from one systme to the other. Not only do you have to change the markings on the tape but you also have to change the size of the case. I'll bet that the tape itself is 3/4 inches wide.

I once had a metric ruler that was 30.48cm long. It didn't have any English units marked on it either.

Question for you Brits. In a pub, does the beer still come in pints?

FYI: US liquid pint:        28.875 cubic inches
US dry pint:         & nbsp; 33.6 cubic inches
      Imperial(dry & liquid): 34.678 cubic inches
