I know that HHG has a open/working time of about 30 to 45 seconds. That's the 192 grade. Has anyone tested how long this can be extended by the application of heat after the HHG has been applied? For glueing a large area like a back or top to ribs would it be practical to position a couple of heat lamps over the neck & tail blocks, and use a heat gun to 'chase the bead' around the rim to stop the HHG gelling until ready to position the top/back in place and clamp. Guess I should do some experiments.

I typically heat the rims with a hair dryer for a few minutes and then run a bead around the liners.

Rehearse and time yourself before going live. Choreograph every move until you get the Chinese Fire Drill down as quickly as possible. Consider having a few extra hands at first to help with clamps or gobars until you build confidence. It's worth the effort.
