I was at my local hardwood store today and came across some boards that I was very impressed with --- a nice piece of macassar ebony (big enough for five or six back/side sets) and a really nice looking piece of quilted maple, with a bit of spalting (probably just 2 or 3 sets worth). Sorry for the picture quality, but I took these at the wood store.

I'm not looking to build any maple guitars in the near future, and I have no need for six sets of macassar ebony. However, if it doesn't break any forum rules, and if others would be interested, I would be willing to have a discussion about picking these up, resawing a few sets, and making them available. Please note that I am NOT interested in getting into the wood selling business. I have a good day job and prefer to spend my spare time making guitars. However, I thought these were some very nice pieces of wood (and I resaw very well thank you) and thought it might be neighborly to see if anyone would be interested.

Lance, if I have broken any forum rules, I sincerely apologize and request that you delete this thread.

Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly!

Given that there seems to be some interest, I went ahead and picked up the ebony. I will let it acclimate to my shop for a week or two and then saw it up.

There should be enough for some back/side sets, as well as some fretboards and bridge blanks. Back/side sets will run $225 per set. I'll post pictures when they are sawn and you can all let me know if you want one.
