It's time to crack the whip again fellas. Who's got the guitar? Let's keep it moving. Hey Bruce Dickey, how about some help here "newbie" ;)

I've still got it Tim
BUT, the fingerboard is glued onto the neck, the peghead is bound and I am getting ready to do the neck shaping this week. I am going to need a case for this puppy to ride in. Who is donating the case. It came to me in a cardboard box and I think that is a little risky for future shipment.

Well, the case got put off. What I mean is, they wanted to put off ordering the case until the guitar was measurable. I thought we were building it according to a blueprint so we could go ahead. Then I went on vacation.

John, that's great news on the progress, I knew it would eventually happen. Hopefully we've all enjoyed our involvement with the guitar so far. John, a pic along would be nice. That's part of the fun of it, seeing the progress. The journey, it's also about that.

Thanks Tim for the encouragement, dust off those Waverlies every now and then. grin.

I think it is time to do a run down on the OLF guitar, for the final duties. Okay, who has an old case to toss in on this guitar's oddesy? We can get the new one on down the road. Matter of fact, would you be up to giving the dimensions now to Cedar Creek Cases?

They have this PDF sheet to download and mail in and may even have one online. Me check that out.

Cedar Creek Cases PDF file for case dimensions

Seems they may require a paper tracing of the guitar as well. What do you think, John?

Brock, check it out, I was able to do the screenshot thingy. CTRL ALT PRINT SCRN just copies the screen to the clipboard memory, then you simply paste it into a graphics program, in this case Microsoft PictureIt! These kind of things come in mighty handy. And you don't even need a camera! Dickey38748.4987268519

Yes they do UNLESS it is a standard shape/depth/length which will fit in a TKL case.

I have gotten a case from Cedar Creek for my version of the same guitar so they already have a pattern and specs, my case fits the guitar just perfect.. JJ was talking to them at one point abot this. Maybe he will chime in. I was gonna loan my case which did not have a guitar living in it, it now does though.
JJ if you talk to them, have them check for my Jumbo Parlor specs and pattern, that should do it.

Problem solved, time to order one, but John may need an alternate sooner for shipping to the next step.

Okay, did any of the pieces make it to Craig and back? Headplate, or fingerboard?

I could just ship the neck to Craig as soon as it is ready for frets. That would let him work his magic and then ship it back to me for the frets and the lacquer. OR, is someone else going to do the finish work on the whole instrument?

May I make a suggestion?? How about we do a little donation from a bunch of us and send this baby out to have the finish done? It will take a load off of John whom I'm sure is busy and will help expedite delivery to Lance.

When you get that guitar all ready for finish you can just send it out to me and I will do the finish. I Spray every day so it would not set me back much. Let me know, I am always glad to give my time for this kind of stuff.

Wow Addam... that is great.

I forget... what artwork is Craig doing for this? Do we have a sketch yet?

I was also thinking. Given that we all love good luthier porn we should have someone take professional shots of this guitar after it is completed.

I think this is something the whole community will want to look at in detail, and something worthy of showing of in OLF ads etc.

I need completed shots to choose from to do the makers label as planed unless someone has already done the label and not said anything to me. I have asked my above question about six times over the last four or five months and I have yet to get a responce. I have the label ready all I need is the background shot, and to know who to send it to if the guitar is not coming my way. I am not agravated or anything, just need to know.

Wow Addam thanks so much. Lance should be very excited about that.

Now can someone please answer Micheal's request for some pictures for the label?

To do what we orginaly planed the guitar was to be finished, sent to me to take the pics for the lable background. I was to install the label and send it to who ever was to present it to Lance. this is still fine by me. I just need to know, As does who ever is to send it to me.

Micheal it seems logical that it should go from Aadam to you as that would be the last step. Did we collect money for shipping? Some how I seem to remember that. Not sure who was collecting. Old man memory lapse.

WOW...the OLF guitar is really back in production! The top is probably opened up by now Good thing the neck wasn't attached...might even be time for a neck re-set <VBG> OK...enough OLF self-flaggellation!

John...The last time I spoke to Tery Hazelton was toward the end of 2004...my how time flies! Unfortunately, he's no longer with Cedar Creek Cases. I'll send them the string of emails showing their support and get it back on track. Instead of us having someone fill out the paperwork and trace the outline, I'll have them look up the specs for John How's Jumbo Parlor Guitar and have them build it accordingly. I'm assuming an 8 week delivery time but I'll see if it can be shortened.

A few questions:
...Do we still want a Tweed exterior?
...Red velvet interior?
...Any other details?
...Where is it to be shipped? Send me an address.

I'm on it as soon as I get the above info.

I just emailed Cedar Creek to remind them of their offer. I'll let you know when I get a response.

Michael:
I am doing the tuner & pick up installation as well as setup and fretting if I remember correctly. I "assume" I will be the last person to have the guitar so I can install the lable for you.

Tim are you putting in the frets?

That's cool.

You should have a realatively easy time of it because the neck will be completely detachable, unless you guys want the extension glued down.
