I stocked up on some premium quartersawn brazilian (and one fun flatsawn piece) for my guitar site from Steven at Colonial. All of these sets are going to become Rockbridge guitars eventually. I'm mainly catering to the flatpicking market where old growth 30's Martin style wood is the dream...and it's nearly impossible to find. I was very pleased with the quality of the sets I got, the price, and Steven was very easy to deal with.

I just placed an order (though for much more pedestrian Sitka and Sapele) from Steve. Really nice guy - I called to ask a question and he was super friendly and offered to provide advice any time I needed it. I'm very excited to see what the wood he picked out for me looks like!

He hasn't tipped the iceberg of Steve's wonderful wood supply....wait until you see his ziricote!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It means a lot to me when I read posts about my woods. It's a tough job doing everything myself, the cutting, the sawing, the packaging, the website, answering emails, answering the phone (when I'm in my office)etc. When I read the nice comments on your posts, it makes my job much easier.
Thanks again.
Steve

Beautiful wood Andrew. I for one really prefer straight grain BRW. Steve definitely has great wood and he is a real asset to the luthier community. Beings I'm in Virginia, can't believe it took me so long to check out the local source.
