Upgraded to the pictured 3.25 readers - WOW. I fall on my face when trying to walk but if you get it looking good with these, it looks great without 'em.

Any body else 'em? Which power?

Another one here...2.75, made of Titanium...
I'd be lost w/o them.

Don't need 'em. They would interfere with my bi-focals

Hah ... my "normal" is a -4. When I want to see something magnified I just remove my glasses and bring it up next to my nose!

Paid $375 US for mine, spend more time looking for them when I`m not looking around the bifocals. But then I can`t see to find them!

-7.5 here. Thank god for contact lenses, otherwise I wouldn't have glasses, I'd have little blocks of glass, prisms.

I just have 'regular' glasses (-2.75, -3.0, something like that, slightly astigmatic); not quite old enough for the bifocals, although I was pondering some cheap +3/+4 lenses to make my own version of a Erlewine magnifier visor thing. Extend them a little, and that's slightly less neck ache when working on engraving!

Larry,

When working at the bench - cutting pearl, fitting purfling, or any other "really close" work, I wear a pair of +2.5 reading glasses plus I wear a 3x pull-down magnifying hood. The hood is a cheapo model from Harbour Freight ($3 on sale) & probably none to accurate, but it really helps for the closest DETAIL work. It stays pulled up out of the way most of the time but when I pick up the jewelers saw, down comes the hood. It's great for mitering purfling.

I ran across some bifocal safety glasses the other day at Penn State Industries. I'm planning to order +1.5, +2.0, and +3.0 to cover various degrees of close work. I currently wear +1.5 at the computer and +2.0 for reading and my eyes have been stable for a couple of years.
