Sweet guitar!! Seems like a good combo (myrtle or Mahogany) especially the Myrtle. I think I will have to try that.

Your webpage of the Port Orford topped guitar has the above image which shows some strings attached to the bridge.

Am I seeing things, it appears these strings are installed backwards? With the unwound portions retained at the pins? Just awfully curious what is going on with this pic. Thanks.

It's old technology, in a new venue. Piano strings have always been made this way, with the wrap wire stopping short, allowing the core to make full contact to the harp.

They worked well, I just don't care for overly bright strings, since my guitars are already loud and bright. In fact, on my personal guitars, if I'm not running Elixir Nanowebs, I have nickel wound strings on them(D'Addario J-22 to be specific).

If you have a guitar that you wish were brighter, give the contact core GHS a try.
