Anyone have Contact info for Grover, Stewmac said we have to contact grover directly about issues with the 18:1 Sta Tites now and I didn't get the contact info from them. Tried a couple of internet searches but didn't get the right hit. |

Skipping a gear, eh? Several folk have reported this. I wonder if the old style is still available? It didn't have this problem. |

On the subject of Tuning machines - not intending to detour the conversation long...........what is the best open back out there with good gears and nice options like pearl, ivoroid, wood knobs ect.....other than Waverly? Mike White Oak, Texas |

I have two guitars out there with the Gotoh 700 series open backers - not a problem yet. The gearing is very tight, yet smooth as can be with the lubricoat stuff they use. For the price they are tough to beat. They are only available in the gold, chrome, and X finishes (vintage aged look) as far as my catalog shows. not sure if they come in the new black, called cosmo black - its like a grey/blue black nickel look, one of my students ordered two sets of 510s in that, and they look absolutely cool. One with the ebonoid knobs, very nice, the other with pearloid. |

I dont use the 700s that often, they dont suit my std headstock shape IMO - I am using the 510s as std these days (used to be the 301s), but Serge De Jonge originally put me on to them - he likes them as well. |

Here's the website if anyone is interested -- a google search on the name sometimes doesn't turn up the URL http://www.thindesign.com/gwmusical/index.html |
