I've a 1920s no-name uke in the shop for repairs. All mahogany. Lots of crack and patch work, but straight forward. Some well intentioned person glued some cracks and polyurethaned the top. How would you go about stripping the poly and retain the patina of the top? Suggestions? |

I've seen historic preservation work where technicians scrape through layers of paint. I think Hesh's idea may speed up the process a bit. I'm going to start on this weekend. We'll see where it goes. |
