I just scorched my only set of quilted maple. I had everything set just as I always do but while cooking I started smelling that smell ![]() I seam to remember a while back that someone posed a possible cure for slight scorch stains in maple. I did a search and came up empty. Was I dreaming? I can stain or burst but don't want to Any help? |

If Your'e lucky, You can sand it out after closing up the box. I've done that successfully a time or two.It just depends on how deep it is scorched. Good luck Al |

Sunburst looks good on maple. Sometimes the bear wins. Al |

Has anyone else found hot spots using a blanket ? Sorry Michael , I don''t mean to hijack here , but think it's relevant .I am thinking of going the blanket way because of the good reports but am concerned about hot spots , particularly with the blanket next to the wood rather than steel slat Has it ever happened to you before Michael ? I have no answer for you mate , other than the bleedin obvious ....stain . Regards KiwiCraig |

Ther was a slat between the wood and the blanket. The wood was wraped in craft paper. |
