Okay, so we've been tiling our kitchen floor and in taking out the scraps of old vinyl and tile pieces, grout buckets and the like, I clean the piles of sawdust and tonewood scraps out of my shop...old laquer cans, you know, and have all of these bags ready for trash day...my 16 yr. old (Kelsey), comes thru on the warpath about my 18 yr. old (Mandi),wearing "her stuff"...Kelsey decides to put all of Mandi's clothes in a bag and drive them to a friend's house to make a point...my wife says, "No, just put them in dad's shop so nothing will happen to them"...next day, I go out and take all the bags to the curb for pick up...you guessed it...every stitch of clothing Mandi owned except for those she was wearing or had lent out is now in the landfill! The laundry had just been done, so there weren't even any clothes saved from the laundry basket...what really gets me even in light of having to replace Mandi's entire closet contents is that everything just went to waste instead of to folks who could've used it! I'm sure this time next year I'll be laughing over this, but right now I don't see it! Thanks for letting me rant/vent and I promise to stick to guitar posts from here on out!

This might be a long shot, but you might see if your home owners policy will cover something like this. I seem to remember a clause in my policy that deals with these kinds of accidental damages.

I seem to find this funny Larry, having two older sisters, I remeber things like this happening all the time. You will laugh at it eventually.

So, in Kelsey's distane of her sister, I see she has dupped herself, now Mandi gets all the new clothes. Oh the irony.

My heart goes out to you and your daughter Larry, well on the positive side, i'm sure she'll look like a " Miss Universe" when you buy all that she needs and you'll be proud of her! No one got hurt on the tile job site either, i'll try to remember that next year to make you laugh about it bro.!

I can relate There were a few years where dad garrett (my little brother) and myself were all pretty much the same size.. I'll tell ya.. I've seen some vicious clean socks & underwear battles They can still share... somehow I grew 5 inches and put on 50lbs.. I blame it on dairy hormones

Kids are really wonderful!!
Just raise them straight and moral and they will grow up to be extraordinary people. A great addition to this world.

I'm lucky...I have two of them!

I tell ya, my two sons insisted on buying all their clothes at the goodwill clothing outlet. Many times I thought about taking it all to the dump and getting new stuff for them to wear.   They had a wierd wardrobe but it was cheap. I guess its different with girls.

Terry, my wife actually has already offered to take her to the Thrift Store! Funny how when she'd go with her buddies to buy a cool thing or two it was fine, but mention a whole wardrobe and things change a bit!      She'll be fine tho...she'll get some old, some new, and she'll have an interesting bit to put on her college "interesting things about me" section!

Hey LP,

I have two daughters. A 19 year old going on 30 and a 22 year old going on 13. Need I say more?

Been there, done that. My heart goes out but at least I can see the humor.

All the best my friend, Steve
