Anybody tried that new (relatively) aluminum radius sanding block from StewMac? I haven't bought one but the 18" length sounds very tempting. I use their 8" wooden radius blocks but I have to be very carefully not to favor any portion of the fretboard while sanding the fretboard or leveling frets. The longer length I think may make the job easier and improve accuracy. The only reservations I have is the stability of an extruded aluminum block and my klutzy ability to drop things on a concrete floor and bending or warping this relatively expensive tool. I've also been thinking of making a router jig to make my own radius blocks from wood of any length I want.

I tried one of them on a lark and they rule. Now I have 3. In time I hope to get the whole set.

I primarily use it to radius the fingerboards. I built one of Sylvan's crowing jigs and it works great with that.
