my oldest daughter just finished up a recording in Nashville. Her producer just emailed me three mp3s.
She "Dawn Hammett Curtis" does blues but I've been asking her for years to do a version of "Over The Rainbow" that would be done her way. She did.
I'll try to put it up here if it's okay, maybe ya'll will like it.

Well I can't figure out how to may it work. If anybody would like the here it. E-mail me, I can send it that way.
Sorry, Tim

Thanks Tim, I loved Over the Rainbow. My singing wife sat down and listened last night as it played. What a pure voice your daughter has and an interesting rendition of the song. Kay thought she sounds like Linda Rondstadt? sP?

Don't know about that but really enjoyed the listen, thanks for sharing it. Bruce

I just listened to the "blue" track. Very Bonnie Raitt!

Hey Tim! The blues is my "thing," and I've learned to expect disappointment when someone claims to sing the blues, because it's much more difficult than most people realize. Dawn has a very good feel for the genre, though, and I really enjoyed those tracks! I'd definitely go to see her in performance. Does she have a web site?

Very nice tracks - she has a very nice {Bonnie Raits feel as someone else said} voice -
I wish her all the best in her pursuit of a career in the music industry. You must be very proud.
Cheers

Carlton, no web site. she has been singing for a long time but there are'nt a lot of places to perform where she lives. Wyoming
We are working on getting her to Nashville. If that is able to happen there is a management company, Robert Metzgar of Capitol Management emailed her and offered to manage her (fee of course) when she's able to move. Seems somebody, who knew somebody who knew someboby else came by the recording studio and heard a couple tracks and that's when she got the phone call and email.

Great sound. Great voice. I too am a blues lover. I think she sounds more
like Susan Tedeschi, but not as raspy. Nashville's a great place to record. I
don't think there's a bad musician to be found there. Forget "American
Idol." -- that's a trumped-up show. Better to pay her dues by working,
especially in the blues area. Thanks for sharing.

There you go dis'n American Idol again! OK, so it IS heavily manipulated...but Carrie Underwood from last season is the Read Deal! Not too tough on the eyes either....

I agree with Don...and his two words..."Carrie" "Underwood"... Yeah, the show's really just the usual TV contest trappings, but some good has come out of it...I suppose!

Nashville Star? Same thing. You can walk into just about any honky tonk
in Nashville and hear talent as good or better than most of what's on
Nashville Star. I agree though, Carrie is easy on the eyes.

Okay, I hope you mean by "fee" that they'll take the usual management percentage. If they want up-front money, forget it! If they're legit, cool!
