Hey guys, are any of you having trouble logging on to Ebay, I wanted to bid on something and it just goes from the search pages to Page Cannot be Displayed text. I wonder why? Also, even though I have stuff I'm watching, It says WATCH this ITEM? Like I don't already have it in my saved auctions to watch? I'd appreciate any help and to see if Ebay is having trouble. |

Anyone else having trouble with Ebay? Thanks Red. Another thing that happened today on the OLF that normally does not work. The pics of the sponsors beside the text links have mysteriously started appearing, every time. Plus, MY jpg images are switching around from one software to another. First they display in Microsoft Viewer, then they go to Microsoft Picture It, then to Corel PhotoHouse, etc. I keep having to switch it back to the Viewer which I like and us Resizer with just a click. Hoo Boy,,,, I may have a virus. Something is strange. Come to think of it my son was playing some online games. AddictingGames.com is where he goes, but never a problem before. Help! |

Hi Bruce...Sometimes, especially on Fridays & Sundays, Ebay seems to load unbelievably slow. Peak hours I would assume. I always try to blame my daughter, but I can't now, since she has her own computer. But, I'm on ebay right now w/o any problems. When it does act weird: I always run a virus check, then clean-up the disc and temp files, and also extract any spyware that sneaks in ...I always hope it improves, and usually the next morning it seems to resolve itself to being OK! |

Okay, Here is what I just tried. I deleted all cookies on my computer, then attempted to log in to Ebay. Well when I hit the SignIN page it went to this display: The page cannot be displayed This page is currently unavailble????? how's that? Okay, I'm shut out of Ebay otherwise. Any ideas? I know deleting the username and passwords worked, because it deleted the OLF cookies too, I had to resign in here. Help! Ideas? TIA. Bruce |

Ok. First. I think you have some serious gremlins in your machine. You should do a good data backup (seriously). Are you running spyware detection? Virus protection? If not get them. It sounds to me like a reinstall is not too far off in your future. As to practical things worth trying, clear your history, files, and cookies and see if that helps. That has fixed a few of the OLF problems before. If that doesn't do it I would reboot everything, and if that doesn't do it I would try to check the site with another computer in the house. (presuming your house is like mine and computers sort of "accumulate") Sorry to hear about this, but take precautions and get a really good back up... just in case. |

Okay, I'm back. All I did was reboot the system, which has been on since about seven this morning. Ebay is back, PayPal is Back, and the vendors pics on the OLF opening page are gone again, just like normal, for my system. They looked good for a little while. My son also said he couldn't log on to his MSN friends chat software. Now he can. Matter of fact, now they are blinking yellow all over the taskbar. Gotta go, thanks everyone, I appreciate the help. I'm bacccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccck! G2G BRB |

If you don't have any protection other than what comes with your email, then I would recommend downloading something like AdawareSE, it is free, is pretty well updated and I have found that it discovers alot of critters that others don't. Second, download SpyBot, it is free also, they take donations, it is really good at identifying these diversion bugs that will cause some of this kind of activity. I have both of these as well as the Norton System Works and Internet Potection and Firewall system this last one is not free and has an annual renewal system. Mike |

I would not go online with out Nortons and INternet security or some other. I keep it up to date. Sometimes though a new thing comes out to pierce vulnerabilities. Looks like I'm good. Thanks guys, bd |
