Take it back and have them fix it. Sounds like something is amiss. Careful about reaching inside without looking.

I just got a B Band A-1 with ust put in my acoustic and it makes a loud hissing noise in my amp. I tried it in other amps with other cables at the music store and it hiss in them too. How can I fix it? |

Hi John Check the connection of the UST to the preamp, is it the correct way round ? they are reversable but it matters. From memory the battery connection is reversable too so check that also, although in the case of the battery connection being reversed, I would expect the battery to get hot. Anothe rthought is that the outer protective coating on the UST is damaged, altough this is more likely to just create background noise, don't ask me how I know

I have installed 5 of these pickups and have never had a problem with them. I agree with Bruce, return it to the store, maybe even leave it in the guitar and take it out when your there, just so they can hear it too. |

Good points there Russ. Check the installation booklette to make sure the inputs are install the correct way. I believe the holes have to be up if memory serves correct. |

You are right rod it is holes up for both connectors. Mind you as the guys said John if you paid to have it installed, then get them to take a look. |

Probably isnt the battery .. reversing the leads on a 9v will give the wrong voltage potential to the preamp, and it wont work at all. |
