To my fellow European members:
I do not know where most of you get your instrument cases, but I have trouble finding anything good locally. I can usually get TKL and Hiscox (sp?) but only in dreadnought or standard Martin shapes. Shipping costs makes importing from North America insanely expensive unless you import a WHOLE lot.

This might be old news to many of you, but I finally found out Calton also makes cases in the UK, so I got in touch with them and when the price /tax / shipping math is done it turns out their prices are pretty good, at least compared to the retail prices I see in the US. Of course, these cases are top quality, built to last and custom made to fit the instrument like a glove! I will be offering these as a standard with my instruments, take a look:

Arnt,

Calton started in the UK - the Canadian end is a franchise if I understand it correctly. Fantastic cases - the Rolls Royce.

Hiscox are cheaper and are great cases in their own way and if you check out their website they do a wide range. Hiscox. They are a very friendly and helpful company and I'm sure they ship to Norway.

Dave, you could very well be right; I guess I was assuming Calton was Canadian because they are usually referred to as a Canadian company on these guitar web sites that I frequent. They are also a pleasure to deal with by the way!

Yes, we see lots of Hiscox cases up here, I have owned a few. They are OK, but more lightweight and I would hesitate to carry a precious instrument in one on a plane or a tour.
