As I scraped the IR bindings I noticed that the dust from the rosewood might of stained the top. I tried to keep my hands and anything else that might come in contact with the top clean. I haven't tried sanding for the fear of working the dust even deeper. I just blowed as much dust off as I could. I was wondering if I should of put a coat of sealer on before I scraped, however I haven't decided which finish to put on as yet and didn't want to use the wrong undercoat. Any suggestions on removing the stains? As some of you know this is my first build,so...oops. Clinton

Ok, I'll post them tonight as soon as my wife gets home with the camera. Yeah, I've been working on it, I'm working on the neck now. It's a bit nerve wrecking. I'm still up in the air with finishes. Thanks for the responses ! Clinton

I put a light coat of shellac on my tops as soon as the rosette's in. The
shellac gets removed during final sanding of the top. When Im scraping
bindings I also try and work my scraper off the guitar rather than across
the binding onto the top. Not possible with all bindings but it usually
works for me.

Cheers Martin
