Last night I received the Ameritage case. While not my taste in a case is most certainly an awesome case none the less. However we have and issue. The case is per Ameritage a Small Jumbo Case AME-32, the problem is that if you line up the waist of the case with the waist of the guitar the body section of the case is 1.25" too long. If you allow the butt to fit the but of the case then the body can shift 1.2" forward and the waist is in the wrong location.

Oh DonW this does not fit the OLF SJ MichaelP38822.6465046296

Interesting....
Initially, the case was designed for my SJ, which was based on an Olson SJ:

L= 19.625"
LB= 15.50"
UB= 11.25"
Depth at butt= 4.625"

So basically, it's a deeper/rounder OM. The prototype fit the SJ like a glove. Ask Bill Greene.

That said...
I had them increase the size slightly to accomodate the OLF SJ, which is a bit wider in the upper and lower bouts. The length should be fine, based on the dimensions being pretty close to each other.
I would send it back and have them re-pad the case in the upper bout to keep it from shifting.
I haven't seen one of these since receiving the prototype last May, but the changes were supposed to fit the OLF SJ to a T.

Deeper rounder longer!!! than an OM

Length=19-15/16
lb=15-1/2
ub=11-5/8
spread at waist= 9-5/8 @ 13 from butt

I posted these over and over. and they are publish on the drawings, naturally.

The case measures
Length=21?
LB=16
UB=12
spread at waist= 10 @ 14" from butt
so basically the lower bout is 1" too long

Is this the case you are refering to Don?

Not your fault Don I ma just frustrated as I was under the impression these dims had been confirmed...THuuuuuub what to do now.

PaulW could you get in touch with Ameritage and see how I need to return this caseMichaelP38822.7595023148

Yikes! It's swimming in there! Looks like I have to get back in touch with Tim at Ameritage and let him know they made it too big.
Not sure how that happened...
My guitar was actually 15.375" at the waist, and the prototype was a bit tight, so I asked them to increase the width to handle a guitar 15.5" wide to 15.75" wide.

Frankly, I didn't have the OLF SJ plans...all I had was Lance's input on the size, but he told me the same thing anyway. The case was originally designed as a case to fit typical SJ's, the same as an Olson SJ or a Ryan Grand Cathedral or whatever the similar model is.

16" wide is WAY too wide.

A thought just crossed my mind if Ameritage would send me 1/2 yard of the plush fabric they use I could fabricate Two pillow inserts to fill the gap. I hate to do something like that to an expensive case like this but it would get the job done and look OK with out alteration to the case. They could just be setting in place or attache with Velcro. What does everyone think?

I have recieved a PM from Andy stating he has a Ameritage SJ cake and it fits the OLF SJ like a glove. So I am now thinking they sent the wrong case
