Here is the guitar I had mentioned in the Padauk thread. I just finished it up yesterday, after spendinga few hours getting the PU to balance - PITA theose coax cable style undersaddles.

So - the B&S are Padauk, qurtered, firey red, lotsa action in the interlocked grain when you move it around. The binding is ziricote, mitred purf lines are blk/orange/blk, rosette is braz segments, bridge is braz too. Headstock is a 4 piece bookmatch braz, tuners are 510s in gold obviously. I let the spanish cedar armrest show thru on this one. The neck/headstock has a padauk stripe down the centre, and the finish there is wipe on satin poly, about 8 coats, then 0000 stel wooled until baby butt smooth. Body is nitro

The sound is cetainly jumbo based, but more even string to string with the symetrical bracing, tapered not scalloped. a little more oommph in the bottom from the body size. A couple students watch me string her up and were impressed with the off the bench tone. Full round even, volume there when you punch it hard. Its a nice guit.

Beautiful Padauk, hope you don't have a fire alarm in your shop. Wonderful guitar, thanks for the pics.

Tony that looks fantastic. I love the look of that beauty. You sure have those armrests down pat.
Great job.

That's it I've had all that I can stand. I'm going to resaw my padauk tomorrow. It's beckoned at me long enough!
BTW one fine looking guitar.

The satin finish is on the neck only - I tried it after seeing the test in FWW that Minwax wipe on won the shootout - I mean the worst that can happen is you sand it off and shoot nitro. But I have converted a couple customers (and two students) already once they put there hands on this one. It just feels SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD. Hopefully I can get Muriel Anderson to give it a whirl tonight at the TFGA concert she is doing (and my Dragonfly as well).
