Hey there - sadly I have realised that in order to finish my shop and acquire enough tools and wood to get started more quickly.
Im going to have to sell my prize baby - my
Gibson, Custom Shop Authentic, 1958 Reissue
in ice tea sunburt flame maple
It has been custom aged by Gibson Custom Shop,
It plays incredible, looks fantastic.
I wanted to give OLF memebrs a crack at this so I am posting here first before I advertise elsewhere.
I got a super good deal at $5500.00 and w/taxes it came to over $6000.00CDN.
I am going to sell it for 4500.00CDN which works out to $3950.00USD.
From OLF members I will take partial trade in tools, tonewood, jigs and other luthier supplies since all the money from this sale is going straight into that gear anyhow.
As I said I will consider up to 50% in B&S, Tops or whole large billets of tonewood, and other supplies.
I figure this gives OLF members a chance for further savings by trading goods at retail prices, that they bought at wholesale prices perhaps.
Im especially interested in Taz Blackwood, BRW, Flame Maple archtop B&S, Lagre boards of Mahogany, Flame Walnut, figured Oregon Myrtle, Snakewood, Zircote, all the good stuff etc etc.

Lance said I could make a thread to bring it to OLF members attn on the condition that people reply via PM if they are interested.
Below is a photo of my beauty - it will be sad to let her go - it took me 20 years to find one like this...
but I we do what we must.
Cheers

Too bad, Charliewood,

It looks super fine. Maybe you can get some consolation in knowing that if it goes to someone here, it will surely have a good home.

Charlie, my friend, consider this...at some point, perhaps not too long in the future, you'll realize that you can build one yourself, and probably make it better! It just takes a combination of materials, tools, knowledge and your own mojo spice! You won't have to search for years to find that special guitar, you can just dream it into reality--the power, the power! Here's something I'm looking forward to: The first time someone looks, wide-eyed, at one of mine and says, "YOU built that!!?".

You know Carlton,
more or less.......... thats what I was thinking - you summed it up -
before I was this close being building guitars though, buying was the only option, and it took a long time to find one I loved as much as this one.
But as you say dream it, then build it, thats the idea.
Cheers

PS
I'll drop price somewhat, thats not firm - so make me an offer.

Dang, that's a sweet guitar...
I love Les Pauls. Every time I look at them though, I get a pain in my left shoulder.

Sorry to see you going that direction! Maybe have some patience and wait and save for all those tools and such?

That is a beauty and that is my favorite color for the les pauls. Maybe someone here will buy it, help you out with tools and such and give you a chance to by it back once you get up and rolling with the building. You never know!

My shoulder still hurts! Yes, that is a nice re-issue. Do you take paypal? How about script? Don't sell it! You will regret it even if you can build another, the new one, will never be THAT one!

I wish Hesh had done a burst like that on the top of his Koa guitar....it would have looked MUCH better.

Hey Don, I may change my mind and try a burst myself...is an 8 foot stepladder high enough?
