Just wanted to check in and say hello to all my buddies on the forum. I'm in my left coast mode again for a few weeks which only serves to allow me to cough out all the sawdust accumulated over the holidays. I had a record pace (for me) in getting 2 guitars closed up and ready for neck mating on the next trip back home. The highlight of my stay so far was taking time to have lunch with John How today...always a treat. He was kind enough to comment on a few progress pics and offered some great tips as usual. We're trying to snag some Tommy Emanuel concert tickets for next month, which could definitely be my best concert ever! My schedule is nuts right now but I wanted to see what everyone is up to. The new site makes it easy and much more enjoyable to catch up quickly. Best wishes amigos! |

We had a great lunch and talked guitars. JJ showed his work in progress, a couple of very cool Parlor guitars and they're looking real good. He doesn't get much time to work them though. I'd go crazy if I had to spend that much time on the road. It sounds like he's gonna be a busy guy in the next year or so. From the pics I saw of his wood stash though, we'll eventually be seeing lots of guitars from JJ. Great seeing you again JJ, John Just to add a note of interest. JJ lives in Indiana and I live in California, and we met on this Luthiers Forum but our work places are right across the street from each other here in Eldorado Hills, Ca. Literally 100 yds from each other. |

Hi JJ Good to see your still alive. So did you bring those necks with you. Don't need much room to carve away. |

Hi Bob...I left the necks in IN. I think I'll enjoy the more leisurely pace once I'm back home in comfortable surroundings. I believe I vastly over-estimated how much free time I'd have out here. |
