Well I bought a throw-away cammra and shot these. See I really do build now and then Back, Sides, Top, Binding all Zootman specials. Yes there is an empty channel on top. I am waiting on some purfling and abalone that an after the fact client desided he wanted on it. Man what a nerve racking operation to rout out the purfling I had in it and inlarge the channel for some abalone. but it is done. I did have to replace the cutaway topside binding as I got a little to jittery near the the lower bout on that side. but all is well now

Michael that is gorgeous. Beautiful workmanship.

Curly redwood and curly narra? Sounds "Zootilalicious"

This was built off my SJ plans just had to narrow the body to correct a bobo started life as a un-intended lefty now righty I bent it on John Hall's forms but softend the cutaway radius agood bit. I hate to sell it. but that what we do. Right?

I love the redwood top and rosette. I bet it will really shine with shell binding.

Great stuff!!

Wow, Michael, nicely done!
Even the center wedge is bookmatched.
That's maple down the middle? Anigre? Pompadoran Persimmon?

Whatever, it's coming together nicely!

No Michael the customer is always wrong when they disagree with you. The wood looks wonderful on it's own, be more forceful with your customers tell them your a great artist and should have a free hand with their money!

Michael, i remember you saying that the market in your area is rather small but i'm sure you could ask a bit more for such a beautiful instrument, i'm sure your background as an engineer helps you make quality instruments and i would not even be shy to ask $3k right today for this one.

I'm not saying this so you justify your pricing here, i'm just telling you that to my newb eyes, it's even worth more than $3k!

Well I know it on the low side but keep in mind this was a fix of erorent side assembly to start with. Plus I had planed it to be a kick around and not for sale after I cut the blocks and sides down, so I put a one piece CNC'd mohogany neck on it so I really don't feel it is in the 3k range. Thanks for the kodos anyway
