Ok, so a member of my church folk group just bought a 1970 Fender P bass for only $250. It was sitting around in a an attic untouched for the last 20 years. I can't say the thing is imaculate, but it is ingreat shape. All original electronics and parts. The bass just got appraised at $2,300...unreal. What a lucky find.

I will share a little secret...this is why I like to visit antique stores in the area. You never know what you'll find. A lot of people just don't know what they have sitting around.

Happy hunting!

I have heard these kind of stories a number of times.

I just wish it would happen to me .

Actually, my first electric guitar (and still my favorite) is a 59 Les Paul Jr. I picked up in 1976 for 50$ at a flea market. Of course I have let enough others slip through my hands - I still kick myself for the mid-50's Martin dread I missed.....

How mant others here are old enough to remember the $50 Jeeps that "could be Bought" and the military Harley flatheads the same-"Still in crates and cosmoline!?" Or the rural legend-the Corvette that could be bought for a grand max because person died in it and stunk it up-just got to pull it out of the barn and burn out the interior to kill the odor and then restore?

Saw that one on mythbusters (Discovery channel). They used a pig to rot inside the corvette. They could never get the rotton flesh smell out...ever. Ended up selling the vette for scrap I believe IIRC.
