I've been busy making molds these days: * MDF 28' radius dish (MDF=Messy Dusty Funk) * Plywood Dread Mold * Mold Spanner Clamps (things used to hold the sides in the mold) I was wondering what creative uses ya'll might have come up with for the inner guitar shapped "waste" wood...I was thinking that I might have enough room to make a Uke mold (but, I'm not sure on the actual Uke sizes)... Another thought was maybe some sort of back packer, mini guitar...and again...unsure if there are any plans out there for a well designed travel guitar. Thanks for help... JP |

My first thought is a bender for wide purflings, provided there wasn`t too much material lost in the mold cut. ??? |

You can make the fox bender sides from the mold cutoff. They need to be about 3 mm smaller to compensate for the side and metal slat thickness. If you cut your mold carefully they are just about right |

You could always build a laminated plywood electric guitar body and put a clock in it and hang it on the wall...............just a thought. Red |

I use mine to make the bending forms to use in my Fox/John Hall bender. |

I'm afraid that in my particular case, the waste material is not of bender quality (several nicks and gouges associated with my jig saw) The dread mold came out great...but...it cost me the inner waste material. So I'm thinking I'm probably looking at a baby guitar or uke...or even just scrap cauls and small jigs. Thanks for the ideas... JP |
