I live by a lake. Where should I go when I need a break? <g> I capture the odd sunrise here and there(my home and shop face East), and have a page of some of the shots. Ice cleared completely just yesterday! 2 weeks early this year! lake page |

Steve, that must be Lake Dardanelle, and yes, Hesh, that is Nuclear 1, I think. Nice photos, Bruce. I love Arkansas, most of the time. Ron |

Nuclear One and if I'm not wrong, the cooling tower is for Unit Two. It's a big venturi and they spray hot water along the top rim and it falls down the center, creating an updraft, that cools the water droplets as they fall. It makes these endless streams of cloud vapor when it's in use. JP, age 13, launched the boat, drove us around the lake, under the railroad trestle, under I-40 and back and loaded the boat on the trailer himself. All I did was take pictures. How about one more? |

The lake West of Russellville is formed by the dam at Dardanelle, Arkansas and has a shoreline of 315 Miles. A river runs through it, the Arkansas River. Lake Dardanelle is known on the big bass tourney circuit. |

No one around here even thinks about it, except the safety folks that work Nuclear. The locals just smile and enjoy the 1500 employee salaries that pump into the local economy. I know I never think about it. |
