Serge inspired me to try again, John, and it worked this time.

Got to use the www. prefix. The link on here sans www gets the under construction message.

Scott has discovered the problem. The Blues Creek address works fine from my "favorites" list, but doesn't work from the OLF link, which doesn't include the good ol' "www". Can we get some double-you's for John?

I have been trying to cantact Blues Creek to ask a question about neck relief angle but am now exhausted and cannot find answer anywhere.
So since this topic mentions blues creek here it goes.
My kit came with a booklet on building a martin guitar kit, in which it specified the neck should be set with a 1/16th gap at the bridge location using a straight edge. I set mine that way. But yesterday I checked out the Blues Creek website's beginner's tips where it stated the relief should be 1/8th to 3/16ths! Which one is right? I hope I don't have to reset it now.

Don't stress Nick, I used the Martin guide on my first and it worked out. I'd stay with that all the way through that guitar.

That angle is important, if you've still got the 1/16" when it's glued on you'll be fine.

I bet the second measurement was a typeo and it ment to say 3/32"

Using a straight edge on the top bout I look for about 3/32" clearance @ the bridge location

You are fine. The tolerances can be confusing to a point. It depends on wether the fret board is on or not.
You want to see 1/16 to 1/8 at saddle location

Thank you. It seemed I was alright but I didn't want to have too little. I think I recall someone saying 3/32 too. Let me see if I can get some pictures here of what I got so far after the second leveling session of french polish. The Koa came out pretty nice. Oh yes, and that's my dog Hopper. I hope the guitar plays as well as it looks.
