John Mayes has kindly donated a photo shoot for one of your guitars. The shoot will consist of about 20 pictures in both RAW format as well as edited files ready for the web.

Shipping costs must be covered by the winner, John's donation was for the services and costs involved in producing the pictures.

Here are a few examples of what to expect.

Lets try to keep ONLY bids in this thread, myself included It gets to hard to weed through the comments vs bids at the end.

Thanks

If people don't get on the stick I am going to swoop in and buy this one. These are some seriously nice pictures.

Sure looks like John knows what he is doing! Note the lack of distracting reflections and "hotspots", as well as the evenness of the (difficult to photograph) bearclaw figure. This studio session, and the digital darkroom work, is easily worth $200 - $300. I know Lance asked for bids only, but I wanted to give people a clue what you will spend if you take your camera to your local pro (who may have a difficult time achieving what John has figured out how to capture.) With several thousand dollars worth of cameras, lenses, and lights, my wife would kill me if I had someone else do photography for me, but this is a wonderful opportunity for someone to get the pro-level photography necessary to do a brochure, and for impressive web work.

Dennis

{edit} if you take your camera to your local pro
what I meant to say was
"if you if you take your guitar to your local pro" DennisLeahy38844.9001041667

Thanks for that Dennis. Aside from the service one of the main reasons
my wife and I are doing this was so that I could get some professional
looking shots for my web page, and such. I always had OK shots before,
but they were nothing in comparison to this. I asked a few local people
and the price range I got was from $150 (that lady seemed kinda clueless,
but it may have turned out OK) to $450 for about 10-20 shots, and
limited use afterwards. In this auction the winner can select two different
backgrounds from my, now, limited selection (about 5 different ones),
they get 10-20 shots from each background, plus the computer work,
plus total ownership of the shots with no copyrights on my part.

Not only shipping, you've also got to have a guitar that you think is worth the effort. I don't have one at that point yet but was sure some of the other folks would go for it.
