Do you seperate each piece or do you put two pieces together? For instance, a side set of mahogany would be placed together for one level or seperated for 2? i would assume 2 but wanted to check.

It would probably be easy to open the bookmatch and sticker the sets as 1 level. keeps the pile low&wide (easier to put weight on) You don't want any sets sandwiched or they can mold/rot/stain where the air cant hit them

Frank you assumed correctly. Each piece is separated by stickers and make sure to keep the stickers lined up. With that jig you won't have to worry about weight.

Be sure to use stickers with a low-tack, removable adhesive. That way you can get them off later. Stay away from NASCAR auto stickers like STP, DuPont, Pennzoil, stuff like that.

Don,
I used to use Cyano but my tongue kept getting stuck to my eyebrows. (wishful thinking). Anyway just remember not to lick the stickers or you will get splinters. I never had any use for the low tack adhesives as they all but disapeared in the fire.
