Anyone have any tips for removing a B-Band AST? I haven't tried at all yet, so for all I know it might peel off fairly easily. But if anyone's done this, found it tricky, and figured out a good way to do it, your help would be much appreciated. For that matter, I'm not sure how I'll re-stick it into the new guitar. I believe it came with a special two sided tape I used to stick it onto the bridge plate. If the tape comes off with the AST and still seems plenty sticky, then it shouldn't be a problem, but if not, I'm open to suggestions on this as well. Thanks. |

just use a new piece of double sidded tape, get the thinnest stuff you can find. As far as getting it off, I would think a rag with some DA should do the trick. Just try and get a little bit under the AST and work a thin blade in between the AST and the plate, go slow though. This is just my best guess as I have not done this either, so take it for what it's worth, nothing ![]() |

Todd They will normally just peel off pretty easy, then just use a bit of the wax paper that comes on double sided tape to cover the glue and you should be able to restick it, if the glue has gone, double sided tape like Rod suggests. |

Thanks, Rod and Russel, for your replies. Russel, I'm not sure if I follow what you said about using a bit of the wax paper that comes on double sided tape... |

I'd call B-Band and ask them. Here's why - I installed the B-Band A2.2 AST/USt in one of my guitars. It sounded pretty bad. When I read the instructions a second time it said that the adhesive on the tape takes a day or two to set up. It warned you not to adjust the mix until a couple of days passed. After 2 days, sure enough, it sounded a lot better. Based on that, I think their tape might not be standard tape. I could of course be totally wrong, again. |

HI Todd All I mean is when you peel the Ast off put some backing tape (the stuff you peel off you double sided tape) on the sticky surface, that way you should be able to reuse it without the need for putting more tape on. |

Steve, thanks for your very helpful input. Russel, thanks for clarifying. Now, I see you just meant something to protect the adhesive on it until I reinstall it. Good idea. |
