I got mine as well. They have really expanded the luthier supply section. Did you notice they are selling cocobolo b/s sets? It reminds me of being a kid and waiting for that Christmas catalog to arrive.

I just got my copy of the new Grizzly Luthier's catalog. Nothing spectacular but some cool stuff in there. Mostly just refined from their big catalog. There is a jig for doing the radius on a fret board @ $475. I made mine for about $30. If you've ordered guitar specific stuff from them in the past you'll probably recieve one too. |

Just goes to show you...either the owner smells money or he simply wants a way to write off his hobby expenses and R & D costs. Maybe both. I like their Ocsillating Sander the big one - around $475. works great. worth every penny with that huge 24x24 top. I also have their smaller belt sander with the 8" disk sander and that has really worked out well. I think my favorite tool from them is that hand held drum sander H2882 and now with there new air drill...I am a happy camper! |

I wanted their oscillating sander but don't have the room for it. I compromised, I bought the Porter Cable portable oscillating sander and a router plate adapter. Gives me a 32" x 24" table. I've not bought any of thier tools, yet, as I plan to get a 12" disk sander. I have been impressed with the quality of their EI Rosewood and Bubinga. |

Same here...I really wanted that big Grizzly OSS, but couldn't afford it. I bought the Jet benchtop model, and built it into a work bench. I also made a modification to it. Now the table is 24x30. |

We picked up their big oscilating spindle sander too. Quite pleased with it and it easily compares with the delta I used to use in shop. The only complaint I have with the whole set-up was the garbage wrenches they sent with it.. what did they think was going to happen when you tried to use those thin stamped wrenches on it. I bent mine the first time I used em. Ah well, small complaint for a great machine. |

Jason, I believe you only need to lightly tighten these things. I have even used the macine with a hand tightening. SO If you are bending wrenches...I think you are exerting a little too much pressure...are you stressed?  (see the thread on stress)

I'm used to a big delta we had in my highschool shop.. the teacher insisted we torque that thing right down. I'll try hand tight and see what happens

Don A.: Save your money and purchase a 6" x 48" belt sander instead of the 12" disc sander. I had one (2 HP Delta) for several years and the paper loads up much quicker than a belt sander. Even with a 12" disc you only have a 6" effective sanding surface. If you try to use the whole 12" width it will kick dust in your face, launch wood in your face .... Guess you get the idea that I didn't care much for mine. |

I have the 12" delta disk stander and love it! The first disk I put on it lasted 2 years. I have an old issue of Guitar Maker that features Kevin Ryan's jigs, and a lot of them work off a disk sander. I probably use that sander more than any other large tool I have. So its really a matter of preference, like most things

Lance, I have the Grizzly 12" sander bought because of that same article. It is extremely handy but I do wish I had the 20"er. |
