I put together a web page to show what Michael is doing with is guitar illustrations. You'll see my dreadnought. And a real pic of some spruce, and Michaels rendering of it.

The first image is one half of a top I am currently working on. the second is a 3d model with the material sampled from that photo. the rest are image I did for Lance using canned materials to give a visualization. When possible it is best to work with good photos of the actual material to be used, wetted wood make the best image.
As you can see I have routed the model for purfling and rosette

Michael,

Very nice. What a great way to try out different combinations of materials, without wasting any!
