In the past I have seen some of you post various pictures of your pets here on the forum. I thought I would start a thread to show your pets. My dad has been a vet all my life, so I have been around animals all my life. We have three little Toy Fox Terriers that we keep inside. We have one outdoor cat and one out door dog. The outdoor dog (Petey) is mostly Jack Russell Terrier but not fully. He was brought in the clinic by an animal shelter when I was young. He had mange really bad and they wanted him put down. We cleared him up and took him home. He's now thirteen years old.
Anyways, lets see your pets!

This is "Shiner Angus Young Bon Scott" or Shiner for short. Shiner for the beer, the rest is obvious (although my wife thinks the names stand for "Good Scot" little does she know)!! She wanted a Westie so I had a hand in naming him.

                       1990-2006

Above is "Molson", our 16 year old border collie/spaniel mix. We lost her to old age just last week, but trust me, she'll be with me for a long, long time, though I already miss her presence dearly. She was there when I strung up my first instrument, and was there when I strung my 100th. She'll be with me in spirit for the 500th, too. A wonderful friend and loyal companion, and more intelligent than most people I deal with on a daily basis.

A year ago, we found "Adeline-Sarah"(photo below), a little sweetheart that is proving to also be a great friend and constant source of companionship. A great walker, we do a few miles each day, and despite her size, she doesn't bark a whole lot. Unfortunately, the white hair likes to soak up sawdust like a shop vac, so her shop time is limited to short visists <bg>

Mario, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss of this obviously wonderful friend. Painful it is, but hang on to the memories tightly. She will always be with you.

Mario,

Our condolences. We lost the adopted cat we'd had for 9 years. Not like the bonding you get with a dog, but we miss her sorely. Hope you find comfort in the memories she left you and yours.

We always had just the one dog, in my lifetime that's three Spinones (Italian hunting dogs), wonderful animals. Then my parents moved to Greece. And we picked up a cat, and a mutt. And I'm almost surprised it stayed at just the two. A few pics:

The noble beast (Tosca, Italian Spinone):

The irreverent little devil, Gaia (Muttus Greekus), making good use of a 'person chair':

And finally, she-who-is-above-it-all, Maga. Professional teaser of dogs and the actual leader of the pack. When she can be bothered (in truth, the three of them all play with each other, which is often incredibly cute):

Wow....great looking pets all!

Mattia, those are beautiful photos...

Here's my kitty, DK Lloyd Alexand'ear.

DK stands for "Don's Kitty". Lloyd Alexander is a favorite author of mine. The 'ear should be self-explanatory.

DK was a show cat that my wife showed as a hobby at cat shows. He won all kinds of national accolades.
More importantly, he's a real sweetheart, and my best buddy.

My olds pal, Nick Claws is a lot like me. We're both old, fat, dumb, and lazy. We both have nasty dispositions, though I'm slightly more friendly. His claws are more dangerous than mine, but I still have both of my ... well, we won't go there.

BTW The huge old maple that Horus was released on has been cut down. The base was about 5-6' in diameter, and solid all the way through. When I saw it I could have cried, they cut it into firewood size pieces. I didn't get to save a single stick.

Pet free at the moment, at least dogs and cats. Teeba my 17 year old Hybrid Wolf cross had to be put to sleep just 4 weeks ago, arthritis finally caused constant pain and trouble walking. I do have an outdoor garden aviary full of Cocktiels, Doves and miniature chickens, miniature barn and coral hosting two Mediteranian miniature donkies, and family count on Tennessee Walking Horses and Spotted Saddle Horses was 105, to many to photo.

If you go here you can see a video of our cats, we have dubbed them super chickens so it seemed like a good idea to make a little video of them:

Chickens Video

I can't watch it without laughing hysterically, the other morning the cat was sitting at the back door watching the dog eat breakfast, my wife opened the door and the dog jumped in the house. I think that cat jumped about 6 feet to the left and crashed into the wall trying to get away, I couldn't breathe for about 5 minutes because I was laughing so hard, the dog thought it was great fun to chase the kitty...

I must make a disclaimer about the video that no harm was done to the kittys, this is their normal state during the day (they are different snugly typr animals at night), especially when the dog is around the house..

Beyond that we have fish, 2 dogs and a bird that thinks he's a car alarm!!

Have Fun...

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pics of your great companions folks, it's strange how i feel right now, maybe jealousy or envy towards all of you. I can't have any cats and dogs at our house, first because i'm allergic to their hair and second, cats and dogs are not allowed in the lease tying the tenants and the owners, being the janitor of our block, i was asked to show the example to the tenants and not have any pets, when i was hired here. Oh well, they will tolerate a cat or dog that entered an apartment clandestinely, as long as there are no complaints against them.

Pets have a way to make us better, they need us and we need them but they show us how important we are to them and i sure feel like i'm missing out on a lot of good moments like you all have.

To Mario, Pat and Mike, my sincere sympathy to you guys.

Al, Great stories you have shared bud, Horus's story ended well but i'm sad for that giant maple though!

Thanks to all who have shared and to those who will!

Serge the Bear ( that is all the pet i can afford to have! )

I'm loving the pet pictures. My regret is that I don't actually live with 'my' pets; they're with my parents, but I still very much feel like they're a part of the family, if y'know what I mean.

Don: thanks for the compliments. Photographing animals can be fun!
