I hope that I have come to the right place to get some help. My problem is, I want to get my father something for father's day that he can and will use. He has began to build guitars, and is quite good at it. I would like to get him something that he would use to do this new hobby, but I am completely dumbfounded. I also do not have a whole lot of money. I think that $40 is my cut-off line. I am asking for all of you to reply to this message with something that I should get my father. All of your help is appriciated very much! Thank you, Heather |

Tools are always good! Maybe a nice Chisel, or a Embroidered shop apron (with his name, or Dad, or something cool on it) would be very cool. I think even places like LMI you can get a gift certificate...Not sure though... |

www.lmii.com that is short for luthiers mercantile. I'm pretty sure they do gift certificates, and they have LOTS of stuff |

A gramil or a fret tang nipper would make great gifts if he doesn't already have one of these! |

www.highlandhardware.com Klemmsia Clamps, you can get three of 'em with that budget. ![]() $12.99, I remember a sale a couple years back where I bought eight for 8.99 each. Everyone else is way higher yet. 11.69 for quantity of nine or more???? I have sixteen of these and would like more. Made in Germany. Beech and steel. |

The LMI Drill Press Sanding Disc. Does he have a good drill press?? If so, he will love this sanding attachment. You could also print off the page and give it to him with it for some tips on attaching sandpaper and using the tool. Drill Press Sander Another good idea is a instructional DVD. The John Mayes guitar making DVD's are great. Even a pro can pickup tips and ideas. On his site you can pick from all different topics. I highly recommend them. John Mayes DVDs |

Keep adding one or two, here and there, as I go along. |

Robert O'Brien's DVD is 39.95! You can get it at www.apprenticepublishing.com. Also, my brace maker jig would be good but it is $59 + $7 shipping. Send me an email at tracy AT luthiersuppliers.com and I'll give you a better deal if you are interested. Tracy |
