Howdy Folks, I need to buy about 3 or 4 lbs of quality 192gram strength granulated hide glue. Any suggestions as to who will sell best quality glue at a good price and ship to AU?? I know LMI does a lb for $8.75 if you buy 3 or more and I will gladly go that road, but just thought I would ask if any of you guys are on to something better. You can let me know here or PM me. Given that granulated hide glue has an indefinite shelf life until mixed, it would seem that this would make a prime candidate for a group buy, anyone interested in putting something together?? TIA for your help. Kim |

Milligan & Higgins are the only manufacurers of HHG in north america. Others may distribute it, but they are the source. |

Hi Kim I spoke to Mulligan and Higgins about exporting Glue, and they weren't too keen, also you may want to check with your customs people, as it is classed as a food stuff, and I think Australian Customs are fairly hot on the import of food stuff ? Russ |

Id did a quick google search on australia an hide glue and came up with the following site. http://www.ubeaut.com.au/hide.html You might have to call them to find out what the gram strength of the stuff is. But the import issues are already solved. Who knows? It might even be made from sheep locally. ![]() |

Thanks Guys, Once I got the following from Milligan and Higgins "Kim, Unfortunately our minimum purchase quantity is 50 lbs. Another issue is importing of hide glue to Australia, resulting in excessive expenses. Thank you for your interest. Sincerely, Milligan & Higgins" I just went ahead and placed the order with LMI, before seeing Shane's reply, (sorry mate ![]() Marc, thanks for taking the time to supply the contacts, I am sure other will pickup on the list ![]() Mike, thanks for the link but I checked with these guys a while back and they only have pearl glue, I think it is a stage less refined and does not have the clarity of the granulated stuff I am after. Also, from memory when I did look into this, I got one of those confused Labrador sideways turn of the head looks when I ask their local supplier the "gram strength", he said it is just scotch glue and it is all the same ![]() Anyway folks, thanks once again for your input and kind regards to you all. Cheers Kim |

No problem Kim. You will like using Hide Glue it is great. Use the Frank Ford/Sylvan Wells method of heating and storing and then you have no nice aroma to contend with and it is clean, quick and easy! Take Care Shane |
