I just got off the phone with Tony and he said Lance had just left his house.
He was dropping off a guitar. Apparently he was examining some of the
other guitars at Tonys. He said he just finished looking at my 1st Cutaway,
OM, Adi Koa.
Give to me....I can take it...
Oh fearless leader....how bad was it!!!!

I'm BAAACCK

I had a FIELD DAY at Tony today! I fondled every guitar in the shop.
Hesh your walnut OM was hanging in the spray booth looking fantastic! Andy, yours had foot prints on it Booth guitars looked great and taped real nice and lively!
John Mayes had 3 guitars there, the mahogany one he is documenting at the APM, the Quilted Sapele he took to HGF and one other cutaway COCO guitar, all were very very nice! Id like to have take home that little quilted box!

Anyways, long drive, im ready to hit the sac, more later!

Don, fondling guitars is one of my favorite past times

Andy, your guitar with the dog prints on the top is just plain COOL! That is SO custom and unique, nicely done as well. Hesh, your builds are ULTRA clean! Tony had two that hes building there as well, hes positively on the right track. I checked out John Mayes neck joint too. I (almost) made a trip to Johns shop I'm OK about 3 years ago, John, being the cool guy that he is, offered to have me for a weekend visit, and show me some of the ropes so to speak, I never made it, and am still kicking my self for it, but seeing his stuff at Tonys (although not the same) was nice.

Tony was his normal VERY NICE self. He is one of those guys that you could grab a coke and sit down and just yack all day with. I really do think ill be making more trips out there and using UPS/FedEx a lot less.

Tony even offered to personaly deliver my guitar when its done, Hesh, maybe yours will be done around the same time and he could bring it too, you could pick it up here on the 3rd? Food for thought?

That's all for now,

Come on John, your joking right? Sloppy? How so? Your work is like....surgical dude! Really, watching your videos, your work is super clean.

You can put that one on your business card, John Mayes, "Guitar surgeon". "Nurse, scalpel...clamp....super glue..."

thanks, but trust me I make my fair share of mistakes.... this was the first sharp cutaway I've done in a long time and I hat to cut the binding channels in the cutaway by hand the old fashoined way, and I butchered it a little...luckily it'll all celan up ok...
