Check out Linda Manzers website and also do a google search on Pat Methany and Baritone guitars. If you want to hear a baritone in action then listen to Methany's 'One Quiet Night". The entire album is done on a Manzer baritone. I have specs on Methany's baritone but theyre out in the workshop. Once the rain subsides Ill dash out and grab same and post up for you. Cheers |

Thank you very much Martin. I would appreciate the specs very much, and I am a big fan of both Pat Mathany and Linda Manzer. I love that Picasso Guitar she built. |

Tomas, Heres the URL with a bit about Metheny's baritone guitar. Not a huge amount of specs but it goes into the tuning and micing of the instrument. http://www.acousticguitar.com/article/142/142,6044,OFFTHEREC ORD -1.asp Cheers |

I have built baritones as well, the new Bruce Cockburn CD will feature a track with one - next to all his Manzers !!!! I have the next one curing, it will be up and running in a couple weeks. In general, I build them on a jumbo size body, scale length 28 or 29 inches 14 frets to the body. Daddario makes a std EXP set of strings for them, 16-70, they require the low A/B string tuner to have the hole drilled out a hair - they wont slide thru without a lot of force if you dont. And oh yeah, they sound great !!!! |

Tomas, A great article written in ASIA GuitarMaker magazine can be downloaded from HERE David Berkowitz is a great guy whom I'm sure will be glad to help. This article gives a lot of very detailed information about baritones. But any of the guys who have already built them above I'm sure can do just as good of a job as anyone else. Tony, especially is the go to man! A baritone is on my list of to do's too, but it will be 3 -4 years out from now. Tracy |

Excellent stuff thanks Tracy. The bracing on David's baritones is interesting......one lower face brace instead of two. Ive read a few articles on baritone classicals where bracing design is quite different from a conventional classical. Greg Smallman I think has done alot of work in this field here in Australia. |

Great articles. I just ordered a couple of preslotted fingerboards, 27.5" and 30". Right now I'm focused on building resonator guitars and will try this with a couple. I am excited by everything I've read about baritone guitars and the way they sound. Interested to see what happens in reso-land ![]() |
