I was hoping to get this finished, but as of 12 noon today I'm locked out of my workshop till the last week in August!!!

Body (and rosette & faceplate) is walnut salvaged from the same dumpster as the mystery neck wood. top is spruce.

anyone any suggestions as to the neck wood?

looks a bit like pale mahogany and (this could be the BIG clue) it smells strongly of lemon when freshly sawn.......

I'll be away for a week, but I'll be interested to know if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks!!

Well, Martin, looks to me like it's time for you to build a shop at home!

That does look great, Martin. So close, and yet....

I love school holidays! I'm a teacher, too, but my shop is at home.

Remember the burglar who fell thru a skylight breaking into a school to steal computers? I think he broke his back on a table and then sued the school for damages or something silly like that... . If you must go, go in at GROUND LEVEL!

Now I have a buyer for it if I can only get it finished........

Ah well, he can wait til September!!!

Realistically I could go in for a few days, but family quality time comes before guitar building.....

a shocking statement for some of you I know, but there you go!!!
