Don,

The answer is that it taps from slightly below the middle with a fleck of the pointer finger on the right hand while the top is held between the thumb and forefinger of the left hand 1/4 to 1/3 down the length at the edge

Shawn, I thought it was more like 1/5 way down the side edge? No wonder I'm always throwing away wood that doesn't sound right. Rats. Musta lost maybe 150 good adi tops like that then...
