hi to all my friends on the OLF,

just thought i would post something..... anything!! to say i hope you are all well and that you are beavering away at your benches (or bathtubs, hesh )

i got back from the USA on the 6th july, and i havent stopped since, had a big party, got a new girlfriend, been trying to get some work done..... all whilst feling pretty jet lagged still. not helped by the amazing weather that we britishers are experiencing currently.... i find myself strangely drawn to the Pub most evenings!!

i just wanted to say sorry for not contributing much recently, and that i hope you are well, and i will endeavour to start participating a lot more soon.

all the best dudes

HI GUYS
I havent been around much either, and I just wanted to say that between the beautiful weather, inlaw visits, working around the house, and property, and working on the shop, and building my thickness sander, and other tools and jigs........etc!!
That I havent really had much time for internet or forum posting lately.
Summer is so short you really have to take advantage of it up here in Canada.
I do miss OLF and I lurk about every so often.
Soon I will be back with pictures, more input and I will be able to contribute in a much more signifigant way.
Cheers
Charlie

IT'S TOO HOT!!!

A field has caught fire, and all the roads in my village have melted!!! NO JOKE!!!

I can't bear to turn my steamer on to bend my rosewood bindings...

Whenever I open my shop door, the humidity plunges below 30%, when I shut it, it rises to 50%, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that I live in a wet house!!! :D

Come on thunderstorms!! (Oh flip, then I'll have to dehumidify!!)

Welcome Back PaddyD, we missed you

Send some pics on the new woods you added to the stash and maybe one of the new girlfriend as well.........

Charliewood, I've been wondering where you have been hiding out. I don't blame you for enjoying the short but beautiful summers in the high country, wish I was there and not in a drought at 103 degrees like today. Good to see you back and hope your shop is coming along well.

103 in the middle of Arkansas, too. My lawn is crunchy and I've been picking things out of my garden already cooked.
110 in my shop. I'm on hold.

I love it!! That's one good reason I closed the retail store in Sacramento and moved the biz back home to Oregon.    I was just in Sac Thursday and Friday picking up about 1,000 board feet of birdseye maple.
