Karen was in my last semester's steel string building class. She has just finished her first guitar and needed help posting pics. This one is a beauty! I will let her comment on the guitar. Congratulations Karen!!

WOW!!! Gorgeous guitar...can't believe it's a first. I really like the way the headstock and bridge compliment each other. Fantastic rosette as well.

We're all looking forward to Karen chiming in with her description. A pic of her proudly smiling face with the completed guitar would also be inspiring

This also bodes well for the teacher as well!

HI All,

Thanks to Robbie for the great coaching and for posting the pictures! My next guitar is going to be walnut back and sides, with a combo engleman/sitka spruce top.

BTW, guitar #1 sounds really good...pretty balanced tone but just enough bass for that martin like sound. I love it!

Engleman/Sitka combination spruce top???

I'm interested in the thoughts behind such a combination.

That Englemann sitka combo is the Lutz variety from Shane. It has very promising tap tones.

Karen, Extremely beautiful.I agree with you on that teacher dude.I think its the scosh or the high tech gluing device that makes Robbie such a good teacher.Anyway all you first timers should definately get his video.I would have never made it thru my first guitar without it.Thanks Robbie

Hey, Karen! Nice guitar! I especially like the "personal" approach you took in your design and appointments. Don't be a stranger!
