Looking good Larry! Is this one a commission?

Joe, no this one's a spec to have around for potential customers...

Hesh, thanks! It's Wenge back and sides, Sitka top, Herringbone purfling and rosette, and black ABS bindings...I wanted to keep it mostly traditional and simple so it may appeal to someone down the road...also the reason for the Martin-style headstock as opposed to my newer one...and....the next one to Tony gets a......sun.....................well, you know!

Andy[/QUOTE]

Wenge: A stringy, very porous (you could stick your fist in those pores!), edge-dulling, noxious-when-sanded but fine sounding tonewood native to Africa.

That is so nice, Larry. Your Wenge is redder than any I've seen. Perhaps it's the lighting, perhaps not.
Whatever, it's really pretty, and your work should sell many future guitars.

Looking good! I really like your headstock logo, did you come up with that or did you hire a graphic artist? It looks great.

Can you tell who's been agonising over a headstock inlay? You've totally nailed yours.

Cool Wenge! Gorgeous guitar! You really nailed the traditional aspect. That guitar will always be in style...

Have you every tried Wenge before? I have some on hand and I'm very anxious to try it out. Should sound awesome from what I can tell...

Looks Good Lar! When do you get it back?

Larry that wenge (wench) looks beautiful, deep ruby red like the lips of the woman from the bad end of town, and she's got the curves to match...I like it . What radius do you use on the back?

Anyhow, everything looks great and I am really looking forward to seeing a more intimate pictorial of this one once you get her back...Ooooooow she such a naughty thang

Cheers

Kim

Great lookin guitar Larry! There IS something very appealing to a traditional looking instrument. Simple, yet classy.

Guys, you're making me blush! The Wenge is a bit browner than in the photos...I think Tony must have flourescent lighting in his shop?...the logo was designed by a church friend who is a graphic artist by trade...he was very generous in working it up in his spare time and I agree it looks great! (Hard to inlay the little bits though!)...first time I've used Wenge, it's stringy and the dust is noxious (to me...)...the back is a 15' radius...I can finally get back to the shop August 17th.... The 23rd is a big day with the aircraft training...a 3 hour oral where anything we've talked about, read, been given in any of the 3 feet of text, etc. is fair game for quesitoning...must answer 90% correctly to get thru...(and it's an aircraft I'm in under DURESS! )...so, wish me luck or I may be a full time luthier soon whether I'm ready or not!!

Now there is a description you won't see on a wood-seller's website.
