"Finishing" must be the biggest oxymoron in guitar making - you never do

There's a saying among writers, that goes something like this -- A book is never finished until it's in print. As a writer, I can assert the truthfulness of that claim. And as a guitar builder, I find it is equally true. If it is a client's guitar, it isn't finished until it is shipped. If I've built it for myself, however, it is never really finished. Cuz the evaluation and critique process never ends. "Hmmm . . . it could stand a bit more pore filling here, and the neck would feel a bit better if I took just a skosh more off right there . . ." It never ends.
