Does anyone know of a wood dealer who can match a cocobolo board? I have a billet of side material and I am looking for similar back material. I have enough to get 3 (maybe 4) sets of sides out of this. It is all of this quality. ![]() |

YOWZA ! COCO-ZOOT ! That's some great figure! It's very hard to find cocobolo that nicely figured and quartered like that. Good score! How about a 4-piece back? Hang onto it, eventually some day you will find a good match for it. And the guitars will be stunning! |

I'd definitely go with a four piece back, then you'd know you've got a perfect match! Colin |

I may do that. You are right, that would be much easier than trying to find a mate for this. |

You could just consider sellin' it to me... I'd hate to see you go through all that trouble for only a set or two...it isn't hardly worth it. I mean, you're a busy fellow, what with running your own business and helping Lance with this new site, and trying to build guitars too... I'm sure you don't need the headache of resawing lumber added to that. ![]() |

Brock--you could try Hibdon Hardwoods. They advertise in the GAL mag. I've bought some coco from them that looked similar...and they always seem to be able to score some amazing stuff. Good luck--that shore is purty. Steve |

It's Butt Ugly isn't it? You wouldn't catch me using stuff like that. That's for sure. Besides, my wood fund is tapped out... and I gotta get rid of 30 or 40 sets of stuff myself. |
