Do you use different sanding dimensions for the mahog. type hardness and the very hard Macassar Ebony, Af. Blackwood. If you do, what does the variation from the usual thickness do to the performance of the wood?

Hi Bob,

I've found that my final hardwood thicknesses -- especially for the sides -- are more a function of their bendability. Some harder hardwoods bend very well (like EIR and pau ferro), while some softer hardwoods (like padauk and mahogany) don't.

Best,

Michael
